For this individual project, we are assigned to design the systems required from a given building plan. This project is to develop students' understanding and knowledge of building services and its system in design and construction. With the given plan, we are expected to demonstrate our understanding of building services by proposing and designing appropriate systems for the building which include several elements.
i) Electrical Supply System
ii) Cold water and hot water supply system
iii) sewage and sanitary system
iv) storm water and drainage system
This assignment will require drawings and diagrams that include specifications, symbols, legends, images, texts and any information that is relevant to describe the planning and installation of all the building services learnt.
Project 1: Application of Basic Building Services
Building Services
In a group of 6, each groups are required to choose a building from our design studio iv, which was a centre for elderly, that can be either public or commercial building. We are to perfrom a thorough study and analysis of the following services systems associated to the building.
i ) Water supply system
ii ) Electrical supply system
iii ) sewerage, sanitary and drainage system
iv ) Mechanical Transportation SYstem
v ) Mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning system
vi ) Fire protection SYstem
